Glossary Term

Reasonable Modification

A Reasonable Modification refers to changes made to policies, practices, or procedures to ensure equal access for individuals with disabilities. Unlike Reasonable Accommodation , which specifically relate to adjustments made for employees under Title I of the ADA, Reasonable Modifications apply in broader contexts, such as public services, programs, or cultural experiences. These modifications help to ensure that individuals with disabilities can participate on an equal basis with others, while maintaining the essential functions of a program or service.
