A circulation path is an interior or exterior route for pedestrian traffic, such as hallways, stairways, ramps, elevators, and lobbies, or any area where people wait or navigate between floors. It is designed to facilitate movement within a space. If a circulation path is not inherently accessible, an accessible route must be provided adjacent to it, as outlined in US Access Board’s Chapter 4: Accessible Routes.
