Assistive Listening System (ALS)

Assistive listening systems (ALSs) are technologies used in public settings such as theaters, performance spaces, lecture halls, museum galleries, etc. that provide enhanced amplification and screen out some background noise. There are different types of systems depending on the context, and could be infrared or FM, stationary or mobile. Assistive technology is evolving, and current technologies (including Bluetooth and Auracast) should be explored before purchasing systems.
